About Yvette
Hello, I am a first-generation college grad. MBA from Harvard Business School, BS in Electrical Engineering from CSUN, and 1 yr abroad diving into philosophy. I was admitted to Harvard, Wharton, Kellogg and Tuck (clear about needing more structure, I did not apply to Stanford). I coordinated events with admissions officers at 25 of the top MBA programs in the US and maintain an extensive network of MBAs worldwide (US + INSEAD, LBS, Oxford, Cambridge), keeping my finger on the pulse of current MBA students' and alumni experiences. I have worked with StacyBlackman, a premier MBA admissions firm, since 2014. Born in Los Angeles, I have consistently challenged global norms. My childhood in Mexico City and European travels broadened my worldview, making the globe seem more accessible. These experiences sparked my passion for mentoring and collaborating with people worldwide. My pre-MBA career included positions at prestigious corporations such as Deloitte Consulting, Fannie Mae, and UBS Investment Bank in NYC. After graduating from HBS, I moved to Dubai, where I embarked on an entrepreneurial journey. There, I co-founded a real estate services company (acquired), collaborated with a sovereign wealth fund, and launched the 'Grubhub' of the Middle East. Currently based in San Francisco, I am engaged as an Independent Technology Executive implementing AI/automation, which provides continuous real-world exposure that allows me to help clients formulate their goals.
Why do I coach?
I have witnessed the transformative impact of coaching on professionals' lives and thus dedicates fully to people I coach. In turn, I am inspired by the passion of future leaders. I view MBA admissions and career coaching as opportunities to guide people through pivotal life changes, providing a guide for ongoing career renewal. This contrasts with managing tech projects, which entail managing performance within a specific goal. During application season, I dedicate time to work with a select group of clients from diverse industries worldwide. Many of these relationships evolve into ongoing career coaching partnerships and friendships.
