About Yudhajit

Hi, I’m Yudhajit, though most people call me Yuj. I grew up in Kolkata in a large joint family where money was neither discussed nor financial literacy formally taught. My earliest lessons in value and negotiation came from trading PokémonTazos on the school playground, long before I knew what finance even was. After completing my engineering degree, I joined consulting at Deloitte, where I spent six years working across global finance transformation projects and M&A transactions. Later, during my MBA at NYU Stern, I discovered how much I enjoy breaking down complex financial concepts for others. That passion led me to Training the Street, where I now teach aspiring investment bankers accounting, Excel, valuation, and financial modeling. Outside of work, I’m a classically trained vocalist, a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do, and an amateur artist. My coachees tell me I bring that same combination of discipline and creativity to my coaching. I am structured and rigorous, but never boring. I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed by technical interviews or financial modeling tasks. I’ve been in those shoes, and now I coach with empathy and clarity, focusing on helping you truly understand the "why" behind the numbers.
