Will’s Career Development Qualifications
Experience level: Manager
Before joining U.S. Soccer, I began my career at Boston Consulting Group as an associate in Dallas, Texas. While at BCG, I had the opportunity to support clients across diverse projects, including early education strategy, non-profit management, post-merger integration, and digital transformation. These experiences helped me build a versatile skill set and a broad perspective on problem-solving, which I’ve carried with me throughout my career. Later, in New York City, I joined Redstone Strategy Group, a boutique social sector consulting firm, where I worked with major philanthropic funders. My projects ranged from refreshing comprehensive programs to conducting grantee impact evaluations, allowing me to understand the nuances of organizational strategy and the importance of creating measurable impact. Since joining U.S. Soccer, I’ve worked closely with federation leadership on several transformative initiatives. These include developing the Soccer Forward Foundation, the centerpiece of the 2026 World Cup legacy campaign, and launching the first annual Sports Career Summit, a workforce development initiative in partnership with the Coca-Cola Foundation. These experiences have deepened my understanding of career pathways in the sports industry and the skills early professionals need to succeed. As someone who has navigated the early stages of my career across consulting, philanthropy, and sports, I understand the challenges and opportunities that come with building a career in dynamic and competitive fields. My varied experiences have taught me the importance of adaptability, relationship-building, and intentional career planning—skills I am passionate about helping others develop. I’m deeply motivated to support early professionals in identifying their strengths, clarifying their goals, and building the confidence to pursue fulfilling careers. My journey has shown me that varied experiences can be an asset, and I’m excited to help others turn theirs into a foundation for success.

About Will
I first discovered my love for coaching in college as a youth soccer coach, and since then, I’ve been passionate about helping people of all ages and pursuits reach their full potential. Reflecting on my journey, I can point to incredible coaches, mentors, and family members who stood by me through challenges and triumphs. Now, I’m excited to pay it forward by leveraging my varied career experiences—from top-tier and boutique consulting to the world of sports—to help others break into complex industries and achieve their goals. Over the years, I’ve fielded countless LinkedIn messages from students—undergraduates and MBAs alike—seeking advice on breaking into careers in management consulting and sports. I’ve loved every conversation and the chance to share insights from my own journey. Now, I’m excited to extend that support to even more people through coaching on Leland, where I can connect with individuals who are ready to learn from my experiences and take the next step toward their ambitions. Beyond helping kids score goals on the soccer field, I’ve spent years guiding students through college admissions and career decisions. As a peer advisor in the Canfield Business Honors Program, I supported students navigating the college experience. Later, as an alumni interviewer and a member of the program’s Alumni Advisory Board, I continued mentoring students and shaping the direction of the business program with each admissions cycle. Whether you’re exploring new opportunities, navigating transitions, or simply seeking guidance, I’m here to help you build confidence, create a clear plan, and achieve your goals. Let’s tackle your challenges together and turn them into opportunities for development!
Why do I coach?
It might sound cliché, but it’s true: I wouldn’t be where I am today without the incredible village of supporters who guided me along the way. That’s why I’m so passionate about sharing what I’ve learned with students and professionals alike. Coaching never feels like work to me—it feels like being on the same team with my mentee and paying forward the support I've been given.
