Vaish’s Career Development Qualifications
Experience level: Vice President
Open to working with clients outside the U.S.
With 8+ years in consulting and tech, I have a bird's eye view of opportunities and career paths. I have the good fortune of working with really talented folks who have taken very diverse paths to get to where they are at. I work with a wide network of ex-consultants, founders, VCs, strategists and others who have helped me understand how to navigate inflection points in a career, when to take risks and how to reinvent oneself. I am also grateful for the experiences I've had across a wide variety of functions, geographies (US, Europe & South Asia) and different stages (large clients through consulting, early stage startups through angel investing and growth-stage through my tech jobs). This helps me understand how work cultures, networks and pace of work influences career trajectories and professional growth.
About Vaish
I am a first-generation immigrant who moved to the United States for grad school. I have always focused on being curious, ambitious and opening myself up to diverse experiences. I believe in the power of relationships, the importance of putting in the work and partner best with people who dream about a different future. I am a macro-optimist and a micro-pessimist, because it helps me constantly challenge myself to be better in the service of a better tomorrow. I love variety and diversity, and have spent the last 12+ years noodling around on all things tech. I know what it means to work with cross-functional partners, inspire people around a mission and get stuff done. I wear the hat of a business generalist and understand corporate strategy, product management and GTM functions. I am convinced we are still in early stages of software eating the world, and I cannot wait for a Jetsons-like future :)
Why do I coach?
I coach because I have been the beneficiary of mentorship and coaching in the past. I believe mentors are crucial to one's personal development as they help you see things from a different perspective and coach you to overcome mindsets that might be limiting your own growth. I had a mentor once who told me that "serendipity is the key to growth" - I took calls from strangers and landed on opportunities; I have connected with folks on LinkedIn that have led to positive collaborations and I have volunteered on projects outside of my day job to get exposure to broader networks. I am incredibly grateful to that individual, especially since the advice has helped me reinvent myself consistently and build out a broad network. I want to bring that sense of candor, thoughtfulness and kindness to as many folks as I can, while continuing to learn from the mentees as well. Honestly, it's a two-way process and I will get as much value and satisfaction as you through this process :)
