About Sue

I have extensive consulting, coaching and facilitation experience as a senior organization design and leadership development leader in companies as diverse as global Fortune 100 tech companies, rapid growth start-ups and the largest healthcare system on the west coast (US). My sweet spot is as a coach, working with executives and their leadership teams to get at their root challenges, resolve issues, and springboard to the next strategic opportunity. As an executive coach, I am known for being disarming, yet candid in helping the client determine the areas for the most significant impact. I also utilize creative approaches to ensure the learning sticks. My career has evolved in the tech industry where I thrive on the fast pace and ever changing landscape. At Microsoft, I coached numerous leaders who were experiencing environmental shifts and organizational challenges that created the need to transform the way they were leading and how their organizations were working. I also led the team coaching program at Microsoft. It became the global go-to approach for leadership team performance across the company. I collaborated with Jon Katzenbach Partners and was a sought-after team coach to facilitate breakthrough performance with global leadership teams and their leaders. I hold a Master of Science degree in Organization Development (MSOD) from Pepperdine University, Culver City, California and am pursuing an ICF ACC accreditation at Seattle Coach. I have various accreditations in individual, team and organization development.

Why do I coach?

They say that people don't leave their companies, they leave their bosses. I want to help as many bosses as possible to be the best boss they can be to bring out the best in their people to work together towards accomplishing what the company is aiming toward. I have personally worked with a number of bosses that I have chosen to leave - bosses that didn't have my back, didn't care about what could be done to bring out the best in me, didn't focus on how to bring the team together. As a boss myself, I've faced the challenge of motivating team members to be more than what they thought they could be, creating an environment of optimism when the company was conducting layoffs, and having to deliver compassionate feedback to an under performer. I have coached many bosses to be the boss of their dreams and set themselves up for career advancement - helping them to see how their behaviors were negatively impacting others, how they could makes small changes to 1-2 areas that would lead to greater results, how to align their teams to a vision of collective success. Ultimately, I coach because I care and there is no doubt we all can be more than what we are today
