The Hero Lab is a non-profit organization that teaches design thinking to at-risk youth in Mumbai and Baltimore. Our mission? To nurture youth who realize their agency, self-worth and potential and can drive remarkable change in their schools and communities. Our kids have designed and launched dozens of human-centered product and service design projects, from a trash collection cooperative that eliminated 1500 pounds of trash from a Mumbai slum to community-led preventive and health centers, anti-bullying video games, and original hip-hop albums on gun-violence presented to legislators. Delivered a TEDx talk on our work in 2016. Managed a full-time global team of employees in the Baltimore and Mumbai- training, hiring, mentoring, and growing careers. Led all product and service design initiatives and built all design curricula. Transitioned to an advisory role in 2017 to give leadership opportunity to local youth and students in Baltimore City.

Mixed-methods leader on digital and service healthcare projects across the hospital system. Built and led a service design team from scratch to co-design and research projects with physicians, hospital leadership, and directly with Baltimore city communities. Led and co-authored multiple journal publications on a lay-health educator program, youth resilience interventions, and agency-based empowerment initiatives in low-resource contexts both in Baltimore City and globally.
