Welcome! As a current fourth-year medical student and member of the Drexel University College of Medicine Admissions Committee, I bring firsthand insight into the medical school admissions process—from application reviews to interviews and final decisions. I've mentored countless pre-med students, guiding them through personal statements, interview prep, and everything in between. My experience as a peer mentor, anatomy teaching assistant, and leader in multiple student organizations has strengthened my passion for advising and helping future physicians succeed. I understand what admissions committees look for and am dedicated to helping you craft an authentic, standout application that highlights your unique journey to medicine. Whether you're struggling with your personal statement, prepping for interviews, or navigating the entire process, I’m here to help you every step of the way. I’ll be stepping away from the admissions committee as I graduate and begin residency, but I’m excited to dedicate my time to coaching applicants through this upcoming cycle.

About Shane
Hello! To put it simply, I wouldn’t be where I am today without the mentors who guided me along the way. Navigating the path to medicine can be overwhelming, especially when you don’t have a roadmap - but I was lucky to have incredible coaches who helped me build confidence, stay focused, and recognize my own potential. As a first-gen medical student, I understand just how vital that guidance can be! That experience shaped my passion for mentorship, and now, as I prepare for a career in pediatrics, I’m committed to providing that same support for others. I am excited to have matched into pediatrics at the University of Michigan! At Drexel University College of Medicine, I immersed myself in leadership, teaching, and mentorship. As a member of the admissions committee, I reviewed applications, interviewed candidates, and gained firsthand insight into what makes an applicant stand out. I teach and mentor first-year medical students, lead peer advising programs, and worked as a teaching assistant in anatomy, helping students build both technical skills and confidence in their abilities. I also had the privilege of organizing major student-led initiatives, including our annual Pediatric AIDS Benefit Concert and Drexel Medicine’s Classical Recitals, blending my love for music with my passion for community building. The most rewarding part of coaching, for me, is seeing growth in others - even when they don’t see it in themselves. Whether it’s a mentee gaining confidence in an interview, a student mastering a difficult concept, or an applicant crafting a personal statement that truly reflects their journey, I love being there to celebrate those moments and remind them of how far they’ve come. I believe coaching isn’t just about strategy - it’s about encouragement, perspective, and keeping you motivated through the highs and lows. Whether you’re working on your personal statement, prepping for interviews, or navigating the entire application process, I want to help you tell your story authentically, highlight your strengths, and approach the process with confidence!
Why do I coach?
I coach because I know how much the right guidance can change everything. When I was navigating medical school applications, I felt overwhelmed until I found mentors who helped me see my own strengths and chart a path forward. That experience stuck with me, and I’ve made it a priority to pay it forward ever since. Through my roles in admissions, mentorship, and leadership, I’ve seen firsthand how a little clarity and encouragement can make all the difference. Whether it’s demystifying the application process, refining personal statements, or helping someone gain confidence in their interviews, I love helping people turn uncertainty into a plan. I believe coaching should be personal, strategic, and empowering. You already have the potential - I’m here to help you showcase it!
