About Sami
Hi there, it's nice to meet you! I'm Sami - a Missouri-born, sustainability-minded entrepreneur now living in Denver, Colorado. I spent my childhood exploring the beautiful landscape of the Ozarks in southern Missouri, and I've been obsessed with helping other people connect with nature ever since. In my professional life, I've mostly worked in the sustainable agriculture sector with experiences working on farms in Missouri and Costa Rica, at public agricultural institutions, and for agribusiness companies. I love agriculture so much that I write about it for fun on my Substack (check out AgPunk!). In my free time, I share my life with my partner, Ben, and together we love uphill skiing, gravel bike riding, food, travel and urbanism. I love helping other people connect more deeply to their lives through mindful and intentional living. I truly believe that our relationships are the most important things, and I actively seek ways to build community, whether it's smiling at strangers in the elevator or staying in touch with connections through space and time. Thanks for reading!
Why do I coach?
"The effect you have on others is the most valuable currency there is." It may surprise you to hear that that quote is from Jim Carrey, and it perfectly describes my orientation towards coaching. As a younger person, I encountered so many people that took time to support my growth. I would not be the person I am today without the support, coaching and mentorship of these individuals. It's incredibly important to me to recycle and multiply that care to others that I meet. I believe there is truly no higher task in life than supporting the growth of others. My favorite conversations are those in which I help others gain better self-awareness and clarity. So often we are struggling in our own minds with questions that feel heavy - about our lives, careers and relationships. I love coaching because it's such a pure and direct way to positively impact others. As a coach, my orientation is to ask questions and help you find the answers that are most aligned with your values, goals and situation. When asked, I am also happy to share my own experiences as examples to work off of and learn from, especially with regards to navigating MBA program application, selection and financial aid, or with respect to entrepreneurship. I look forward to working with you!
