About Nick

I grew up in the small town of Oxford, PA, just an hour outside of Philadelphia. Surrounded by cornfields as far as the eye can see, I eventually made my way to the city to attend Temple University. During my undergrad years, I was quite the explorer—working in potato chip factories, chemistry labs, and even briefly pursuing an accounting major—before settling on biochemistry. Wanting to make a tangible difference in the lives of others, I decided to pursue dentistry. Before starting dental school, I spent a year as a full-time assistant working for several endodontists. I gained invaluable experience. Perhaps the most rewarding was getting to assist the doctor in treating my mom, who, unbeknownst to me, showed up in a tremendous amount of pain requiring emergency treatment. Since this and countless other patient experiences, I am firmly dedicated to becoming the best clinician I can be in hopes of honoring the privilege that it is to care for others. With that said, the journey to dental school is not an easy one. It's filled with countless hours spent studying, thousands of dollars spent applying to schools, and gray hairs that seem to grow out of nowhere. As a first-generation college student and the first in my family to pursue a career in healthcare, I’ve experienced firsthand how overwhelming and challenging this journey can be. But I also know it’s possible with a combination of determination, hard work, and the right support. I'm beyond grateful for all the support that I have been given over the years, and I hope to share that with you. I’ve had the privilege of working with students from all backgrounds, helping them excel in the classroom, crush the DAT, and gain admission to their dream dental schools. Now, as a student at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, I’m more confident than ever that I can help you navigate your path, overcome obstacles, and achieve whatever goals you set for yourself. Let’s work together to make your dreams a reality!

Precision Endodontic Network

August 2022 - July 2023

Before attending dental school, I sought to gain hands-on experience in patient care and dental practice operations by working full-time as a dental assistant during my gap year. I had the privilege of assisting seven highly skilled endodontists at Precision Endodontic Network, where I developed a wide range of invaluable skills. These included taking dental X-rays, assisting during complex endodontic surgeries, and mastering the day-to-day workings of a specialized dental practice. This role demanded adaptability and teamwork. I collaborated closely with a dynamic team of professionals to ensure seamless patient care and clinic efficiency. I was directly responsible for the safety and comfort of patients, requiring me to think on my feet and make quick, informed decisions during procedures. Interacting with patients daily deepened my understanding of patient needs and the importance of clear, empathetic communication in building trust. This experience solidified my commitment to dentistry and taught me the immense privilege it is to take quality care of others.

Peer Tutor

Temple University

January 2021 - June 2022

During my junior and senior years at Temple University, I had the privilege of serving as a peer tutor at the Temple University Resnick Academic Support Center. In this role, I collaborated closely with student-athletes, designing customized semester-long tutoring plans across a wide range of STEM disciplines, including biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and genetics. Each week, I hosted personalized tutoring sessions with 15 individual students, helping them navigate challenging course material while balancing the demands of their athletic commitments. Together, we worked to build strategies to thrive in rigorous coursework to ensure academic success both in the course and in their future courses.

Temple University

June 2021 - August 2021

Between the summers of my sophomore and junior years at Temple University, I was selected as a STEM tutor for a comprehensive summer program designed to prepare incoming undergraduates for the demands of STEM coursework at the undergraduate level. I met with students three times a week, guiding them through foundational general chemistry concepts while fostering their understanding and confidence in the subject. I developed assignments, evaluated their performance, and provided constructive feedback to help them refine their skills. By the end of the program, students had completed half of a general chemistry course, equipping them with valuable preparation and effective strategies well before their first semester began.

Diamond Peer Teacher

Temple University

August 2020 - December 2020

As part of the highly selective Diamond Peer Teacher Program at Temple University, I was honored to be chosen as a peer teacher for an undergraduate Organic Chemistry I course. In this role, I provided supplemental classroom support, assisting in facilitating lectures for over 150 students. I also conducted twice-weekly, in-depth tutoring sessions where I guided small groups of students through self-designed organic chemistry problems tailored to prepare them for upcoming quizzes and exams. Additionally, I held two weekly office hours, offering students the opportunity to discuss challenging topics, seek clarification on coursework, and address broader aspects of the course structure. This experience deepened my appreciation for teaching at the undergraduate level and allowed me to develop valuable skills in effectively communicating complex concepts to diverse groups of students, all under the mentorship of an expert organic chemistry professor.

Weekend Warehouse Employee

Herr Foods

June 2020 - August 2020

During the summer between my sophomore and junior years of college, I took on a role as a weekend warehouse worker at a snack factory, working the 3 PM to 3 AM every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. With the COVID-19 pandemic derailing my original summer plans, I sought a productive and safe way to spend my time while earning money for the upcoming semester. While I learned a great deal about the production, packaging, and distribution of snack foods, the most meaningful lessons came from witnessing the dedication and resilience required for physically demanding work. Working alongside individuals for whom this job was a daily reality made me deeply appreciate the privilege of my position as a student, knowing that my time there was temporary. This experience left me with a profound respect for the effort, perseverance, and commitment of those who work in essential, everyday industries. I am proud to have had this opportunity, as it shaped my perspective and gave me lasting gratitude for the hard work of others.
