I have four years of Investment Banking experience, advising on M&A transactions at Rothschild & Co and Jefferies, where I also took part in recruiting. Now moving into Private Equity, I work with candidates across technical preparation, behavioral interviews, and resume development. Having been through the process myself — and having sat on the other side as an interviewer — I know how tough it can be to go through recruiting without real, honest advice. Coaching is my way of giving back to the community that supported me, and I tailor my approach to each candidate’s background, goals, and challenges. My focus is on helping candidates build strong technical foundations, tell their story with impact, and approach interviews with a clear understanding of what top firms are looking for.

About Lan

I began my career in investment banking at Rothschild, spent several years at Jefferies, and now work in private equity at Liverpool Partners — one of Australia’s leading mid-market funds, known for its operational and hands-on approach. My first job out of school was tutoring grade 12 students for their HSC (admission exam to university). During university, I also tutored university students part-time on subjects I excelled at. I’ve navigated competitive recruiting myself and understand what it takes to break into top roles and thrive once you’re there. I’m here because I want to help others do the same, with clear, focused guidance that gets results.

Why do I coach?

I coach because I know how tough the recruiting process can be without real, honest advice. When I was navigating Investment Banking and Private Equity recruiting, the guidance I received, or didn’t receive, made a huge difference. Coaching is my way of giving back - helping candidates avoid common pitfalls, build confidence, and present the best version of themselves. I take a tailored, practical approach because every candidate’s background, goals, and challenges are different, and the right preparation can be transformational. IMPORTANT: My moat is the generosity of my time and my dedication to making sure you get the most out of our work together. I’m not here to nickel-and-dime anyone. For example, I’ll review your answers, case studies, or models before our sessions, so we can spend the time in-session purely on feedback and discussion that moves you forward.
