Jonny’s College Qualifications
Jonny has helped clients get into these schools:
In today's competitive college admissions landscape, I’m here to help you stand out. I know what it takes to succeed in elite admissions processes. I went to college at Washington University in St. Louis and subsequently worked at BlackRock, the world’s largest financial asset manager with $10.6 trillion in assets under management. After five transformative years at BlackRock, I pivoted into the psychology field, landing offers from selective doctoral programs at Boston College, Fordham University, and Yeshiva University, the latter of which I’m attending to earn a doctoral degree in clinical psychology. As a career coach, I’ve helped people land top scholarships, fellowships, internships, jobs, and graduate school acceptances. At BlackRock, I served on the admissions committee for the firm’s internship and analyst programs, where I reviewed resumes, conducted interviews, and evaluated candidates. My experience as an applicant, coach, and admissions committee member has taught me that standing out in competitive application processes requires telling one’s story in a compelling, authentic, and memorable way. As your coach, I will help you share your personal story with your unique voice so that your application differentiates you from the pack.

About Jonny
My coaching journey began when I worked as a peer advisor for the Washington University Career Center. In this role, I staffed five walk-in hours per week, helping students identify their career interests and guiding them through all stages of the job search process. I realized that I had a knack for coaching: students frequently attended my walk-in hours, often requested to meet with me specifically, and landed selective fellowships, internships, and jobs. Upon graduating from college in 2019, I spent five years at BlackRock, the world’s largest financial asset manager with $10.6 million in assets under management. I continued to support people in navigating their career journeys: I advised five early-career employees via the BlackRock Analyst Buddy Program, mentored a cohort of 10 college students during the Out for Undergrad LGBTQ+ professional development conference, served as a peer counselor for a crisis text line for work-related issues, and earned the United Jewish Appeal New York Federation’s Volunteer Award for the career guidance I provide to young Orthodox LGBTQ+ Jews through a local nonprofit. In August 2024, I started the next chapter of my career: I am combining my coaching passion with my research expertise—which I developed through research experiences at Harvard, Brown, Boston College, Washington University, and BlackRock—by beginning Yeshiva University’s clinical psychology doctoral program. As a psychologist, I will develop and implement evidence-based techniques to help people thrive.
Why do I coach?
My passion for coaching is rooted in my belief that all people have unique gifts to share with the world. I love learning about what makes a person special: how one’s particular strengths, interests, and values shape them into a one-of-a-kind human being. I derive immense meaning from aiding people in discovering their unique brilliance and leveraging this novel self-understanding to create amazing lives uniquely tailored to them. When people unlock their potential and share their unique gifts with the world, they make the world a more vibrant, kinder, and better place.
