I have a wealth of experience and achievements that uniquely qualify me to be an outstanding coach for students aspiring to enter undergraduate schools. As a graduate of the University of Chicago, I not only completed my studies with distinction but also received recognition as the top female student. This accomplishment speaks to my commitment to academic excellence and sets me apart as a role model for aspiring students. Furthermore, I was awarded scholarships and granted admission to renowned institutions, including Berkeley and other Ivy League schools. These accomplishments serve as concrete examples of the paths that potential clients themselves may aspire to walk, fostering trust and inspiration. Beyond my academic achievements, I have a diverse range of experiences that make me an aspirational coach for students. Throughout high school, I balanced my studies with employment in the restaurant industry, displaying a strong work ethic and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. As the valedictorian of my high school, I self-studied and successfully completed 17 Advanced Placement (AP) courses, demonstrating my self-motivation and intellectual curiosity. Moreover, my leadership roles as the captain of the Speech and Debate team and an officer of the Model United Nations (MUN) team showcase my effective communication and teamwork skills, which are invaluable assets for navigating the college admissions process. In addition to my accomplishments, I have a unique perspective on the college admissions process. I have experienced the challenges of mental health struggles firsthand, having been hospitalized at multiple points during my educational journey. This personal journey allows me to empathize with the anxieties and pressures that students face during this crucial time. I underwent a transformative period of self-reflection and evaluation in college, ultimately emerging with a clearer understanding of my own purposes and goals. I am passionate about helping others embark on their college journeys with a similar perspective, guiding them to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their aspirations. By sharing my experiences and resources, I aim to make college admissions more accessible and empower students to navigate this process successfully. By incorporating specific examples of achievements, highlighting unique experiences, and sharing aspirational stories, I aim to build trust and resonate with potential clients seeking guidance in their quest to enter undergraduate schools.

About Emily
BIO: Prior to spending two years at McKinsey, I was a branding designer and did not have a traditional background going into consulting. In fact, when I applied for internships, I was rejected from every consulting firm because I was not prepared and was extremely unaware of the process behind recruiting. It took much for me to finally understand what went into the recruitment process and I was fortunate to land a position at McKinsey. Since then, I dedicated my two years to Chicago and New York's early experience recruiting teams, and was a trained interviewer for a year. I specialized in case interviewing, but became extremely familiar with everything from the resume to behaviorals to the case interview. However, because I had gone into recruiting not understanding anything myself, I wanted to help candidates become best equipped to face any consulting interview process. Now, as a coach, I know that the best way I can help candidates is through getting to know them and who they are -- where they come from, their motivations, their hopes, and therefore, how I can support their recruiting journey. I hope I can help my students through not just consulting but also through other hurdles in their professional lives. I'm looking forward to meeting you and learning more about how we can work together! ----------- PROFESSIONAL COACHING: Since 2024, I've taken coaching as a major part of my own career development. I've coached over 40 candidates now and always enjoy getting to know more every year. Please let me know any feedback you might have for how I can better improve what I do for you! I prepare all my cases myself, as well as materials, resources, decks, exercises to support my coaching. Again, please let me know if there might be anything I can create and prepare for you. _________ HOW TO PREPARE FOR OUR TIME TOGETHER: Please feel free to let me know in advance anything that would help me get to know you better. Anything is great -- your educational background, your professional experiences, timelines you might have coming up. I want to hear it all. ----------- CANCELLATION POLICY: As an interview coach, I carefully structure my day around the sessions students schedule with me. I kindly ask that you respect my time and the time of other students who might be waiting for an opportunity to work with me. If you need to reschedule or cancel a session, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. Unfortunately, cancellations or rescheduling within 24 hours of our scheduled time will incur the full session charge. After three such occurrences, I regret that I may no longer be able to continue our work together. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I've felt alone in this great big world before, like I didn't have help and didn't know what I was doing. I still do, sometimes. And I hope that I can make others, even if just one individual, feel less alone out here -- in any way it may make sense.
