Package Description:

As a coach who has helped many students apply and get admitted to BYU, I’ve designed this package to give you full support on your Common App and 100% free help on BYU. If you or your child are applying to BYU and at least one other college through the Common App (or another Utah school), this package is built to make the process smoother, more strategic, and far less overwhelming. This package includes comprehensive application support for the Common App, plus the BYU application for free. Applicants will choose one common app essay they'd like to work on with me (note that two of the common app essays are already included on the BYU application). You may use that Common App essay to apply to other schools and adapt it however you'd like for BYU. Once your work on the Common Application is complete, your coach will then provide 100% FREE support on the rest of the BYU application. See the bottom of these package details on why any BYU support needs to be free. Here's what's included: 1:1 Common App Support - Kickoff & Planning Call: We’ll start with a deep-dive call to understand your goals, story, background, and strategy. - Essay Brainstorming & Editing: I’ll walk you through brainstorming, outlining, and revising your personal statement. Two of the Common App essays also overlap with BYU’s prompts, so we’ll work strategically. - Activity List Coaching: You’ll get guidance on how to phrase your activities and awards for maximum impact. - Application Review: I’ll conduct a full, final review to ensure your materials are cohesive, polished, and ready to submit. (FREE) BYU Application Support Because BYU’s admissions policy prohibits paid application help, I provide the following services completely free for students who work with me on their Common App: - Recommender Strategy & Prep - BYU Essay Brainstorming & Editing (aligned with BYU’s rules -- no AI tools, no ghostwriting, just thoughtful feedback) - Activities List Revisions - Final Application Review I’ve worked with many different kinds of applicants, all of whom bring unique strengths and stories. I know how to stay within BYU’s admissions guidelines while still giving you the best possible support and I'd be honored to help you navigate this process. -- A note on the BYU Application: Leland has worked with dozens of BYU experts (including former BYU admissions officers) to build a package that is in compliance with BYU's application guidelines. The BYU application from 2024-2025 included the following language: - "You may not use generative AI tools (like ChatGPT) as you compose your responses" — Our BYU experts are trained to support you as you write your own application, avoiding any and all AI tools that may be flagged by tools that flag AI-generated content - "You may not pay anyone to help you with your application." — Coaches have agreed to provide all BYU support 100% for FREE for students who work with them through this package. - "You may ask others to read and review your essays to ensure that you are answering the prompt clearly and effectively." — Your coach will provide free essay revisions in line with this guidance - "Although it is acceptable to have others review your essays prior to submission, the words and ideas must be your own." — Your coach will never write essays for you, but they will support you as you craft a winning essay that resonates with the admissions team In summary, this package is in compliance with BYU's application guidance.
