About Elena
I’m a first-generation American and college student, raised in a working-class immigrant family in Brooklyn. I didn’t have connections to elite universities or insider mentorship, but I did learn how to tell a story that stood out. When I applied to graduate school, I was determined not just to get in, but to do it without debt. Through months of research, reflection, and rewriting, I developed a strategy that helped me win admission (and full funding!) to top public policy and international affairs programs: Stanford, Yale Jackson, Princeton SPIA, Oxford Blavatnik, and LSE. I was named a Knight-Hennessy Scholar and was a finalist for the Marshall Scholarship. Now, I coach others to do the same. I specialize in helping mission-driven applicants tell powerful, personal, impact-focused stories that unlock funding for MPA/MPP and other masters degrees. Whether you're applying to fellowships or fully funded policy programs, I’ll help you show up with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I remember what it felt like to stare at a blank Word doc, knowing I had a story to tell but no idea how to shape it. No mentors, no roadmap... just high stakes and a lot of self-doubt. What I needed back then wasn’t someone with all the answers. I needed someone who could ask the right questions, help me make sense of my messy notes, and push me to go deeper. Now, that’s exactly what I try to do for others. Coaching isn’t just about polishing essays, it’s about helping people uncover the impact they’ve already made, and then tell that story in a way that moves decision-makers. I care most about working with people who are trying to do some good in the world, and who need their application to open real doors - not just admission, but funding, access, and opportunity.
