About Daniel
Hi! My name's Daniel Garcia and I'm a strategy consultant at Deloitte and a seasoned admissions advisor. Raised in the deep south, I moved to Southern California to attend Pomona College and have made my career here before taking time off to attend Stanford University's Graduate School of Business to pursue my MBA. Not your typical businessperson, I studied Public Policy and Biology in undergrad and have pre-consulting experiences in international affairs, insurance, and environmental policy. Personally, I'm gay, Chicano, and was the first in my family to attend college. With years of undergraduate and MBA coaching under my belt, I'm looking to help others translate their life experiences into convincing applications to get into their top choice schools.
Why do I coach?
I was selected as a LEDA Scholar and brought to Princeton University alongside other high-achieve, underserved youth in the summer between my junior and senior year of high school to undergo an intensive college writing and admissions camp to help me gain admissions to the top schools in the country. Through that program and advising, I was admitted to Stanford, Princeton, Washington University in St. Louis, Tufts, Tulane, and Pomona College - where I matriculated. I returned to that program as a college guidance counselor in 2021 where I directly advised 50 students and supported another 50 to get them into their top colleges. 98% of students were admitted to a “most competitive college” as identified by Barron’s. 69% were admitted to at least one Ivy League institution, MIT, or Stanford. Now as that group prepares to graduate, I've truly seen the impact I've had on them by helping them achieve admission to incredible institutions that have enabled their success. I've begun to do the same for MBA admissions having now entered that world myself, and now provide admissions coaching across undergraduate and MBA programs.
