About Bryan

My higher education career started while I was an undergrad at UC Irvine. At the time, I was intent on applying to law school and moving to Manhattan to pursue my dreams of being a prosecutor in the Big Apple. Little did I know, my entire career trajectory would change due to a degree requirement focusing on public service. I decided to follow the unorthodox approach of interning for an undergraduate counseling office where I conducted qualitative and quantitative research on retention rates. While big research universities have a strong retention rate (like UCI did) when you dig deeper into the data, you come to realize, specific demographics suffer more. In this case, my fellow African American and Latino male where less likely than other male and female counterparts to graduate largely due to cultural and socio-economic instances. I wanted to do something about it. So, I landed a job in academic counseling in which I focused on these populations and created retention programs. This work led to a UC Conference presentation where I focused on methodology that would improve retention amongst, not only African American and Latino populations, but academically at risk populations utilizing data. This work shaped how I viewed higher education and the systemic barriers and sparked a career dedicated to clearing them. Unlike most consultants, I have experience not only consulting candidates on admissions but truly representative educational experience. While other consultants are talented and have served on admissions committee, Morphy Strategy & Co is fundamentally different. Today, at Morphy Strategy & Co, I draw on experience as an academic counselor, admissions committee member, scholarship reviewer, grant reviewer and instructor to help you navigate every twist in the admissions journey. Whether you’re targeting a professional master’s, a research-focused PhD or an undergraduate program at a top university. I translate inside knowledge into practical steps, so your application reflects not just what you’ve done but who you are.

Why do I coach?

Strategy is about foresight and my path into higher education taught me that the clearest vision comes from lived experience. Confronting systemic disparities fuel me to supporting students from all backgrounds land into the school that will provide the best opportunity. The joruney from researcher to counselor to admissions director revealed the power of strategic support. I coach because I know what it feels like to confront hidden hurdles and to prevail when someone charts a clear course alongside you. At Morphy Strategy & Co, I blend that insider perspective with admissions expertise to coach you through the terrain marred by obstacles, and because guiding you to that acceptance letter is without question the most rewarding strategy I know.
