About Brian
In truth, I don't know how unique or special my story is. I was raised in a good home, with good parents who taught me a lot about life. But I never sensed that there was a real long-term vision for what my future could be, and so through early adulthood I just went with the flow and did what I was "supposed" to do. In my professional career I'd been on the hunt for years to find that place, that niche that energized me and that I was eager and excited to do. I bounced from public institutions to private, from university archives to a hyper-growth dessert company; I feel like I've spent a lot of time in different environments and fulfilling many different roles. And from external objective measures, I did well in all those roles. And yet, it still wasn't right! What I knew for sure is that I felt energized by: working through real problems to help people; having autonomy to create my own path; studying and teaching about human psychology and how belief manifests in how we navigate the world. As I sought opportunity to create an opportunity for myself, I eventually found coaching. I love it!
Why do I coach?
My "why" of coaching comes from two emotions: my deep curiosity to understand humans, and my desire to be free. Nothing grabs my attention quite like learning about why we are the way we are. In all of our uniqueness, seeing so much that we share. There's something truly magnetic about the idea that each human is a totally unique and independent being, and yet our experiences in life can be so universal. I have developed a talent helping others see themselves and the world through different lenses. These shifts in perspective allow my clients to discover new possibilities and chart a course they may not have found on their own. I relish in this, and find deep satisfaction helping others in this way. I also have a deep and enduring desire to be free. I don't enjoy working through the strictures and bureaucracy that plague formal institutions and organizations. As a business owner, I want total flexibility so that I can deliver exceptional results to my clients, and so that I can create a life that serves me and my family. As I learn how to better meet both of those desires, I am able to immediately pivot where necessary, and this is freedom. I want to help my clients break through artificial walls that may be holding them in. The more I coach, the more I learn how to do that for myself as well. In this way, coaching provides a rich and true win-win scenario for me and my clients.

President
Evergreen Coaching
October 2024 - Present
Simply put, I help leaders get what they want. I've coached first-time team leaders, department directors, and C-suite executives on a range of topics. I'm most experienced with soft skills development and practice, but because of my approach to coaching I don't need area expertise to add value. I'm not a mentor or consultant, and so don't tell the client what to do, or what I would do in their position. As a coach, my job is to ask powerful questions (those that reveal truth), uncover and define a path forward, and help the client adjust as context changes. No one knows the client or their situation like the client does, and I want to honor that in my coaching.

More at tipgoalkeeping.com When the pressure is high and the game is on the line, the time for preparation is over. At TIP Goalkeeping we combine experience, intensity, and fun so that keepers can shine in the big moments. And for us, it's about more than just the sport; it's about giving athletes opportunities to develop skills they can use in every part of life. I aim to provide a high intensity, high expectation training experience. I aim to expand the opportunities for youth goalkeepers to receive legitimate, high quality instruction. We aim to price our training fairly to allow the partcipation of as many athletes as possible; I don't want money to be the reason a keeper doesn't train with me. I view the opportunity to train young athletes as a great bestowal of trust, and promise to never betray that trust. I have managed the goalkeeper training for MetaSport FC, Wasatch SC, Utah Surf FC, Saratoga Springs FC, and Utah Development Academy, in addition to running specialized camps. I focus on small group sessions as that provides the most training variety and flexibility, but also have extensive experience providing personal keeper training to individual athletes. Crumbl University Instructor
Crumbl Cookies
February 2023 - April 2024
I trained and coached franchise owners who were either starting their journey with Crumbl or just wanted to polish their leadership and operational skills. I created and delivered curriculum and learning activities, and also met with leaders 1:1 to address their questions and areas of concern. By the end of my time at Crumbl I was coaching and training internal teams that wanted help with culture and conflict resolution.
